For months now, Rosé’s single “Apt.” has been rising on the Billboard charts. The tune earned a lofty debut, and then steadily lifted on sales and streaming tallies, as well as at least one that combines several different consumption formats.
As Rosé’s collaboration with Bruno Mars begins to step back on a number of important lists, such as the Hot 100, Streaming Songs, and Digital Song Sales rankings, it’s still climbing on radio tallies. It’s typical for DJs and programmers to lag behind the public when it comes to adopting a new cut, so it usually takes new tunes longer to soar on airplay lists than on those dedicated to sales and streams, which can be immediately impacted by fan activity.
“Apt.” appears on five different airplay charts in the U.S. this week. It climbs on three of them, reaching new peaks as it does. Rosé’s breakout solo smash lifts highest on the Radio Songs tally. On that ranking, which includes all styles of music across all radio stations throughout the country, Rosé soars to No. 4, which now marks a new all-time best showing for not just the tune, but the singer herself.
The same single also appears inside the top 10 on one other Billboard-published radio list, the Adult Pop Airplay chart. On that tally, Rosé and Mars step up from No. 9 to No. 8.
The cut is also gaining ground on the Adult Contemporary chart, only at a much slower pace, which is not unusual for that list. “Apt.” improves by two rungs on that airplay roster, and it now sits at its new peak of No. 18.
As it climbs on three radio rankings, “Apt.” is also steady on two other related lists. It’s running the show once again on the Pop Airplay chart, where it made history not long ago as the only No. 1 by any K-pop artist. The tune is also a non-mover on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay list, where it keeps at No. 17 in its fourteenth frame on the tally.
