In case you missed Sunday’s NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here:
Monday has returned and we’re off to yet another February work week. Hopefully everyone had a pleasant evening and you were happy with the results of the Super Bowl. If you were unhappy with the results, better luck next year. If you’re totally ambivalent, even better. I have no skin in the game, personally. In any case, we have a Mini Crossword to solve, so let’s solve it!
The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it’s free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you’ll need the app to tackle the archive.
CLUES
1 Across is a type of flower I’m not familiar with, but I’ll give you a hint: It starts with the letters CR.
6 Across these are often colors, or at least described by people this way
1 Down could also be saguaros, etc.
2 Down is a tool we use to measure things
Spoilers ahead!
ACROSS
1- Flowers that bloom in late winter — CROCI
6- Energy fields “read” by psychics — AURAS
7- Conflict jarringly, as colors — CLASH
8- Head, in French — TETE
9- Wrathful feeling — IRE
DOWN
1- Prickly pears, e.g. — CACTI
2- What’ll give you an inch, but not a mile — RULER
3- Make a speech — ORATE
4- Detective’s assignment — CASE
5- “Kinda sorta” — ISH
Today’s NYT Mini
Other than 1-ACROSS and a couple others (I have no idea what “Head” is in French) this was pretty straightforward today. I was able to fill in CROCI by getting all the other words, finishing up on that and ISH at the same time. The Mini took me just 51 seconds today.
How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!
