Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl—the latest Wallace and Gromit stop-motion film adventure—is new on Netflix this week.
Co-directed by Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham and produced by Aardman Animations, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl marks the second feature-length film about the characters following 2005’s Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which earned Park a Best Animated Feature Oscar.
The enterprising inventor Wallace and his intutive dog Gromit have also been featured in four short films. The first was A Grand Day Out in 1989, which was followed by The Wrong Trousers (1993), A Close Shave (1995) and A Matter of Loaf and Death (2008).
Park won Oscars for Best Animated Short Film for directing the first three Wallace & Gromit shorts and was nominated again in the category for the fourth.
According to Netflix, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will debut on the streaming service on Friday, Jan. 3. You must subscribe to the streaming service in order to watch the film on Netflix.

The official summary for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl reads, “Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own.
“When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again!”
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl marks the debut of Ben Whitehead, who takes over the voice of Wallace following the retirement of original voice star Peter Sallis in 2010. Sallis died in 2017 at the age of 96.
The voice cast for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl also includes Diane Morgan, Peter Kay, Lauren Patel and Reece Shearsmith.
How Was ‘Wallace And Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’Received By Critics?
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl arrives on Netflix with a 100% “fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 79 reviews.
The RT Critics Consensus for the film reads, “Comforting as cheese and crackers, with some gentle ribbing of modern technology sprinkled on top, Vengeance Most Fowl revives this lovable pair with all their charm intact.”
Per The Numbers, Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl opened in theaters on Dec. 18, but domestic ticket sale information is unavailable.
The limited theatrical run of the film in December qualifies it as an awards season run, specifically in the Best Animated Feature category.
So far, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl has been nominated for Best Animated Feature Film by the Critics Choice Awards, the Golden Globes and Annie Awards.
Several film critics associations have also nominated the film for Best Animated Feature, including the Chicago Film Critics Association, the New York Film Critics Online and London Critics Circle Film Awards.
Rated PG, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl begins streaming on Netflix on Friday.
