With the month of June here, it’s time to dive into some 2025 fantasy football rankings. We’ve already dove into the top five running backs, but now it’s time to take a look at quarterback.

We’ll be expanding this list over the course of the offseason, but for now, let’s break down the top players. With most leagues only starting one quarterback, it’s often considered a luxury position.

If you can walk out of your fantasy draft with any of these top five players, you should feel great about your quarterback spot for the rest of the year. These rankings are geared towards a four-point passing touchdown format.

2025 Fantasy Football Rankings: Top 5 Quarterbacks

1. Josh Allen

It’s hard to have anyone but Josh Allen as the QB1. The upside and floor combination for Allen is simply unmatched.

Since 2020, Allen’s lowest finish was the QB2. In those five years, Allen was the QB1 for three of them, including his 2023 campaign.

Allen is an elite runner, scoring 12 touchdowns and running for 531 yards on the ground last season. Allen did all of this despite his passing attempts dropping below 500 for the first time since 2019. If that changes at all in 2024, Allen is poised for another QB1 season.

2. Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson has a slightly lower floor than Allen, but he was the QB1 in 2024 fantasy football. If you’re playing in a standard four-point passing touchdown format, these elite runners are a cheat code.

In 2024, Jackson had 915 yards on the ground to go with a career-high in both passing touchdowns (41) and passing yards (4,172). Just like Allen, the Baltimore Ravens didn’t add or lose anyone super noteworthy this offseason.

DeAndre Hopkins could be a sneaky addition, but it’s tough to bet on a 32-year-old wide receiver to have a massive impact. With Derrick Henry coming back to help give Jackson more opportunities as a runner yet again, Jackson should be taken as a top-two quarterback.

3. Jayden Daniels

The case for Jayden Daniels is similar to Jackson, but he doesn’t have that top-three performance under his belt. Daniels is entering only his second year but finished as the QB5 after he ran for 891 yards and six touchdowns.
As a young quarterback who’s going to keep developing, expect the number of passing touchdowns to rise from 25 for Daniels. The Washington Commanders adding Deebo Samuel isn’t as big of a deal as the name might imply, but it’s an upgrade nonetheless.

With the Commanders waiting until round seven to add a running back in the NFL Draft, expect this offense to be run through Daniels’s ability on the air and ground once again.

4. Jalen Hurts

The major news for Jalen Hurts was that the tush push was, in fact, not banned. Hurts had 17 carries inside the five-yard line last year, which turned into 14 touchdowns.

With the tush push still in play, expect similar results in 2025. On top of that, the Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back all their big-name weapons.

Similar to Jackson, Saquon Barkley has given Hurts opportunities on the ground as he ran for 630 yards last season. When Hurts looks to throw, he has A. J. Brown had 1,079 yards (13 games), and DeVonta Smith with 833 yards (13 games) at his disposal.

Had Hurts not missed two games last year, it’s likely that he would have finished closer to his 2023 rank of 2nd rather than 8th.

5. Joe Burrow

It’s hard to see the Cincinnati Bengals defense getting much better this year, which will benefit. In 2024, the Bengals allowed the 7th most points per game (25.5), which caused Joe Burrow to be in high-scoring games all year. Especially with Trey Hendrickson, who had 17.5 sacks last year, holding out for a new contract, this defense could be in a lot of trouble.

Burrow had a career-high in passing yards (4,918) and passing touchdowns (43) on his way to a QB3 finish. With the Bengals resigning Tee Higgins, who had 911 yards in 12 games, expect this to continue.

Burrow is going to be throwing the ball a ton in 2025, making him an easy top-five quarterback selection in my 2025 fantasy football rankings.
